The writing and the craft of history in the course of Geography and History at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of the University of Paraná (1938-1948)

Abstract:

Our main objective was to reconstitute the process of institutionalization of university teaching of History at the University of Paraná (UP) in the 1940s, emphasizing the process of curricular change that the course of Geography and History passed in the period. We sought to highlight what was intended to teach students so that they could perform the office of historians with technical and intellectual property. We also sought to analyze how science and religion were articulated to promote the formation of character and profile of the professional that was intended to build in the course.
