Institutional and curricular transformations in technical-professional education for women in the province of Santa Fe (1966-1983)

Abstract

In this article we develop the ideas that guided the objectives assumed by the provincial technical, professional and artisan education, aimed at women, and the Santa Fe educational policy oriented towards professional technical schools for women, between 1966 and 1983, to analyze the transformations and the permanence of the offer. From the origin of the Argentine educational system, the training for work of women in productive activities was excluded from secondary education. We recognize that in Santa Fe, this characteristic was maintained until the mid-1970s, when new curricular proposals began to be implemented that linked professional curricula with secondary education, which only became established at the beginning of the following decade.
