The School Press Exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo (1933-1936)

Abstract

The goal of this work is to analyze how the School Press Exhibition occurred in the states of Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, between the years 1933 and 1936. The research contested the aspects that motivated the organization of those events. In this process, the journals available at the National Library were analyzed. In coverage, the press highlighted the place of the Society of Friends of Alberto Torres, the institution responsible for holding the events and spreading the news about the schedule, norms and awards of the exhibitions. From this study, it was possible to understand that the samples aimed to highlight this type of elaborate publications in schools from different areas of the country as the adopted strategy to civic affirmation between the students.
