Quadros em movimento: O uso das fontes iconográficas no filme Os Bandeirantes (1940), de Humberto Mauro

This article discusses the utilisation of iconographics sources as a strategy for autheticating the film narrative through the analysis of one of the section of the movie "Os Bandeirantes" (1940), from Humberto Mauro. This movie was supervised by Edgar Roquette-Pinto, president-director of the Instituto Nacional de Cinema Educativo (INCE), and had the historical coordination of Afonso de Taunay, historian and director of the Museu Paulista, also known as Museu do Ipiranga. The strategy of the utilisation of iconography as historical document in "Os Bandeirantes" will produce a gap between the Humberto Mauro' work as film director and what had been previously idealized by the producers of this movie.
