Medical Boarding School and the Health Family Program

Abstract:

In recent years both medical education and medical practice have been widely debated, and changes have been tested that have incorporated new models for the training of general practitioners with a humanitarian focus and a Strong ethical link to the national population and reality. This article presents key aspects in the basic guidelines of National Curricula for Medical Education in Brazil , the Ministry of Health´s Family Health Program , and the internship at the Riberão Preto School of Medicine , University of São Paulo . The authors report an teaching experience included in the school´s new curriculum which seeks to integrate the current proposals using the most recent new public health strategy in the country as the space for training medical students.
