Abstract:
The resumption of studies and debates on medical education in the 1990s was accompanied by new proposals for change. Understand such proposals is not always easy. Reviewing key historical issues in the international medical education movement, particularly in Latin America, may help shed light on the issues and foster the necessary changes.
