"Who am I? Virus game": a game as a new virology teaching tool

The large amount of content to be taught in medical disciplines often makes traditional methods of pedagogy, rooted in purely discursive methodology, extremely dull and uninteresting to students. Thus, the development of alternative methods for teaching is required. This paper presents an educational game designed to act as an additional tool in virology teaching. The game "Who Am I? Virus game" is a board game in which players must guess which is the virus based on tips provided by the mediator. As the board was designed based on the steps of viral replication, players acquire basic knowledge of virology beyond the expertise of the virus in question. In addition, the game works as a great motivator for the students.
