Degree in Physics with Emphasis: An Option in the BNCC Context

The publication of the third version of the Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC) has induced a series of debates among the actors involved in the teachers formation. Particularly, for the area of knowledge of Natural Sciences, which corresponds to the traditional knowledge of the courses of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and part of Physical Geography, the base advocate great interaction between the knowledges and between the professionals specialized in each knowledge. Given the new Brazilian educational paradigm, we propose to structure the specific training cycle for a degree course in Physics with four emphases options: Emphasis on Classical Physics, Emphasis on Chemistry, Emphasis on Mathematics and Emphasis on Astronomy and Geosciences. Although the proposal is legally hypothetical, it has all the materiality elements for its possible implementation, after all, as a starting point, we use the current courses of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). It should be noted that the author was the coordinator of the Degree in Physics course at UFG for four consecutive years. We hope that this work will stimulate and encourage the debate of ideas around the complex theme of how to adapt the training courses for Physics teachers in the country to the context of the BNCC.
