Following the proposal of a quantum physics course with an experimental emphasis [P.R.S. Gomes and T.J.P. Penna, Revista Brasileira de Ensino de Física 10, 34 (1988)], in this work, we present a new simple method for the study of the stopping power of alfa particle in air, usually presented, when available, in advanced labs in physics and in medical physics courses. In this method, the Bragg's curve can be obtained both qualitative and quantitatively.
