To improve the teaching of Physics in Brazil I recognize that it is necessary an increase in the number of annually graduated teachers. But this is not enough or sufficient; at the same time it is essential to improve the initial education of teachers. The works of some recognized physicists were used to argue alternatives and principles that could help to improve the initial education of physics teachers. Both can be extended to the teaching of Physics for other undergraduate courses.
