Children and television: what they think about what they learn from televison

This article presents the results of a research carried out in 2004 by the Research Group in Education and Media, from the Pontificate Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), which set out to describe and understand the relationship between children and television, from the children’s point of view. The empirical support for this study were texts written by more than four hundred children from the Southeast Region, in the 8 to 12 year age range, in which they express what they think about what they see on television. The analytical procedures were structured on themes taken from the children's texts. This article focuses on the theme "what children think about what they learn from TV".
