EVALUATION AGENT CLASSIFICATION MODEL ACCORDING TO POWER RELATIONSHIPS: WHAT DOES THE EVALUATOR EVALUATE?

ABSTRACT

The traditional classification of evaluation according to evaluation agents requires a reconfiguration in light of the study of power relations in practices and pedagogical needs of innovative projects. A new model is proposed based on the concept that what defines the type of evaluation is not the role of the subject (teacher, student), but the symbolic position of the evaluator on what is evaluated, expressed in power relationships and dialogue. The new model considers usual concepts categorized according to the nature of the evaluator: observer (hetero-evaluation) and participant (co-evaluation and self-evaluation). The article is sequentially organized into problematization, review of evaluative theory, analysis of the traditional classification model, and description of the proposed model.
