ABSTRACT
This study aims to to analyze the perception of teachers with physical education training at the Federal University of Tocantins – UFT on the impact and importance of the course for the city population. The research sample consisted of six teachers of the Physical Education Degree course (UFT). We used the Content Analysis: Technique of Elaboration and Analysis of Meaning Units, elaborated by Moreira; Simões & Porto (2005). We found that although the implementation of the Physical Education course in Miracema do Tocantins was very positive, some gaps should be filled for the consolidation process of the course to contribute to the process of integral development of the municipality and surrounding regions.
