Editorial note

EDITORIAL NOTE

The Brazilian Journal of Biology, is publishing papers only in English, with a summary in Portuguese. The number of papers submitted to the Journal is increasing after this policy decision. On the other hand the audience is also increasing, due to the wider distribution and the interest of the international scientific community. The Journal next year the publication of the 60th anniversary volume will consolidate the present policy of the Brazilian Journal of Biology.

Two new sections of the Journal will be open in the year 2000: description and notes on major projects in Biology and short notes with new scientific information or methodology.

The Editors thank the several authors that submitted their papers and also the referees that are providing a valuable service to Brazilian Journal of Biology.
