This survey was carried out in a semidecidual forest at the Estação Ecológica de Paulo de Faria, situated along one of the margins of the Rio Grande, in the north of the state of São Paulo (19°58’S e 49°32’W). The Estação Ecológica comprises an area of 435.73 ha. The local climate has two well defined seasons, a dry season from April to September, with a mean rainfall of 167 mm and a wet season from October to March, with a mean rainfall of 978 mm. The soil is caracterized as purpler latosol and predominantly originated from the neocretaceous sediments of Bauru formation. The area was divided into three sampling sites in order to perform the floristic survey. A number of 201 species was identified, being distributed into 149 genera and 60 families (187 were Magnoliopsida, 10 Liliopsida and 4 Pterydophyta). The families with the highest number of species were Leguminosae (14.42%), Bignoniaceae (6.00%), Euphorbiaceae (6.00%) and Apocynaceae (3.50%). A low floristic similarity between this forest and those included in other studies was observed.
