Natural resistance to decay is one the most important properties of the wood mainly in the case of the eucalypt wood that have a poor tractability with chemicals substances. The aim of this work was to determine the natural resistance of seven eucalypt wood species in accelerated laboratory essay to the fungus Gloeophyllum trabeum that causes the brown-rot. It was usedwood from the 16 year-old species Corymbia citriodora, Eucalyptus tereticornis, E. paniculata, E. pilularis, E. cloeziana, E. urophylla and E. grandis growing at the Experimental Forestry Station of the University of São Paulo - Brazil. Regarding to decay that was caused by the fungus Gloeophyllum trabeum, the eucalypt wood may be considered resistant, as it showed mean weight loss values lower to 10%.
