Antecedents of supply chain management: do they really exist? an empirical study in Brazil

This article tested the impact of three antecedents (trust, internal relationships and support from senior management) on supply chain management (SCM) using a structural equation model and a sample of 112 companies that operate in Brazil. From a review of the conceptual and empirical literature about SCM measurement models were developed and validated both for SCM as well as for the antecedents that can be used as scale in future research. The results provided evidence that some of the antecedents (trust and support from senior management) that were identified in international literature also apply to Brazil, but no significant link was found between internal relationships and SCM.
