Impacts of the mobilization of subjectivity on professional and worker-union formative processes

This paper analyzes how subjectivity as a strategic process affects contemporary organizations. It emphasizes the possibilities of autonomous professional and union formation. Based on an empirical study in automotive and textile industries in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, it searched to understand the social representations of different segments (managers, workers and union leaders) about companies systemic modernization process since the end of eighties and their implications for work relations. Main results indicate that an important effect of subjectivity modernization process in organizations has been social space homogenization, which difficults the "construction" of autonomous subjects and independent projects, denying the organizational discourse of companies' democratization.
