This cat was found dead without any clinical signs or prior disease |
Macroscopically, the animal had cyanotic external mucous membranes, epistaxis, hyperemic and edematous lungs and multifocal hemorrhages. The liver, spleen and kidneys were moderately hyperemic. The esophageal and stomach content revealed numerous rounded, blackened and firm millimetric structures with an appearance suggestive of aldicarb pesticide. The anatomopathological conclusion was acute respiratory insufficiency with a generalized circulatory disorder. |
