The article analyses the presuppositions which delimit the domain of medical (positive clinic) and psychoanalytic clinic, two different clinical configurations, that use their own basis to determine distinct works. It shows a concise historical and examines clinical procedures, in order to contrast each professional’s position towards the patient’s symptom, the diagnosis process and the final treatment.
