Taking care of those who do not have family: perception of cozy mothers about this experience

This study aimed to capture the feelings of mothers in relation to the experience of temporarily host a child in the family and changes as a result of this experience. Descriptive study of a qualitative nature, performed with seven cozy mothers. Data were collected in June 2012 using semi-structured and subjected to content analysis interviews. The results show that the experience of welcoming a child is due to the awareness of the importance of this activity, the bond with the same naturally arises, the whole family is involved in your care and family routine is tailored to your needs. Families experience feelings of joy and satisfaction resulting from living with the child and worry and sadness when she leaves. We conclude that host brings benefits to children and families also, however, these need professional support for this activity will not endanger the health of the family unit.
