The guardian council and the social network in the childhood

Childhood comprises social structures which go back to the beginning of social, politics, economics and cultural structures of the modernity. This essay initially presents the main changes occurred in the last century and analyzes its consequences for childhood life. From these elements on, it discusses the childhood troubles nowadays and points out the emerging of new institutional perspective to deal with these matters, such us the development of a social network compounded of institutions from public sphere. It breaks down the idea of being the childhood a matter of private sphere. At last, it studies the role of the Guardian Council - a government institution in charge for childhood care - into this network and its social responsibility facing Brazilian childhood matters.
