Viktor Frankl’s will to meaning

The present paper aims to investigate a central point in the opus of Austrian psychiatrist Viktor Frankl: the "will to meaning" concept. We believe that this concept constitutes the cornerstone of the anthropological view of Logotherapy. We also aim at showing how decisive that category is for a proper understanding of the author’s thought. Our logic path has led us to a discussion over the selftranscendent quality of human existence and its relation to the will to meaning. Finally, we stand for the existence of a transposition of the individual in behalf of meaning in Logotherapy theory.
