Clinic of identity: from pataxó cosmovision to the fight for emancipation

Abstract

This article focuses on presenting the process of identity construction with emancipatory purpose based on the worldview and struggle for territory of the indigenous Pataxó people, the only ethnic group that managed to resist in the extreme south of Bahia. The research demonstrated that the struggle for recognition in legal, moral, and social value aspects constitute the emancipatory processes that characterize the political identities of the indigenous Pataxó.
