Psychoanalysis, group and technique theory: advice to the young group coordinator

Abstract

Although studies and research on psychoanalysis and groups have currently increased in university, many works on group intervention fail to describe how group analysis is performed. This article sought thus to systematize a proposal for analyzing the group associative chain, based on René Kaës and Enrique Pichon-Rivière. A bibliographic research on the entire work of Kaës and Pichon-Rivière was carried out to identify concepts that provide references for the analysis. The text discusses the differences between device, framework, and task; the ways in which group recording and protocol is performed; the analysis of transference; and the analysis of the emergent and the ideological moment in the group.
