Psychology in primary health care: demand, territory and integrality

The beginning of the psychology practices at in primary health care in Brazil toke place during the 80's. Over the next decade, under considerable criticism in individualizing practice, gave up its formal exclusion of the Health Family Strategy, but that didn't avoid the performs of physiological works. In this article the report of an analysis of demand in 1996 held from anamnesis in groups and reference in psychology/ institutional analysis, shown the importance of disputes over territory and the history of institutions in the constitution of the demand for children and adolescent mental health in a UBS the suburbs in the Sao Paulo. The report submitted and the formal resumption of psychology in Primary Care through the Centers of Support for Family Health (2008) point to the challenge of revitalizing the traditional instruments and adding them to the complexity of the territories and the quest for completeness.
