Assessing memories of parental alienation and control: evidences of the RRP10 construct validity in Brazil

This study aimed to adapt the 10-item Remembered Relationship with Parents (RRP10) scale to the Brazilian context knowing the evidences of its psychometric parameters. Participants were 298 undergraduate students of a private institution from Joao Pessoa (PB - Brazil), mostly females (55.6%) with a mean age of 19 years. They answered four measures, including the RRP10 and demographic questions. Results confirmed the conceptualized bi-factorial structure whose alienation and control factors showed evidences of reliability (composite reliability and internal consistency) and convergent/discriminant validity. In conclusion, according to evidences found in the construct validity, this measure may be properly used in future studies.
