Crossing borders: between Anthropology and Education in Brazil and Argentina

The relationship between anthropology and education has been marked by similarities and differences revealing that this is not a ready and finished story but it is in fact a broad, diffuse and complex issue and in recent years we have witnessed a process of approximation between anthropology and education as we had never seen before in Brazil. But if for Brazilian anthropology this seems to be a new reality, other experiences developed in Latin America may reveal a fruitful framework for the exercise of epistemological reflection under a comparative perspective. The objective of this article is to analyze the relationship between anthropology and education based on the understanding of researchers from the educational field in Brazil and Argentine regarding the educational ethnography proposed by Elsie Rockwell and Justa Ezpeleta, representatives from the 'Departamento de Investigaciones Educativas' (DIE), Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados (CINVESTAV) from the 'National Polytechnic Institute' (IPN) in Mexico.
