Readings stories: building up meaning on science and technology

The concern with the functioning of language in science and technology education has led us to ways that question the illusion of language transparency. In this work we present a reflection on the activities developed within a discipline in which we prioritize discussions on the concept of discourse and on meanings about Science, Technology and Society (STS) relations. We understand that these discourses do not only communicate about such content, but also what and how is spoken about science and technology produces effects of meaning. Moreover, we understand that what is not said also contributes to meaning build up. In this regard, we emphasize the work with the stories of students' readings as an adequate way to understand the heterogeneity of discursive formations based on experiences, knowledge and experients build along their lives, , culminating in different understandings about science and technology.
