Education and indoctrination: a view from radical and inclusive education

Abstract

Indoctrination is a perennial and universal problem in education. They are usually confused, even though they are opposites. The aim of this essay is to highlight this problem, as a radical pedagogical issue, in which its differentiation is imperative for educators. To this end, we will try to define conceptual and theoretical openings, in order to enable it both to the educational conscience of citizens and to the scientific, pedagogical and didactic conscience. The appropriate approach to respond to the objective is “radical and inclusive”. The methodology is hermeneutic and dialectical. It confronts the questioned and the proposed, generating innovative argumentative results throughout the process. By way of conclusion, analytical and synthetic reasons are provided to reinforce a more conscious and responsible pedagogy, in the light of this daily evidence.
