This essay examines the concept of natality in the work of the philosopher Hannah Arendt, stressing its fundamental importance to her conception of education. We emphasize that the author - whose political thinking often uses the experiences of the Greek polis and the Roman republic - draws mainly on Christian sources when reflecting on natality, in particular the work of Augustine. This influence of Christian thought is rarely addressed by the ones who study Arendt's work. Our reflection on this inspiration suggests some perspectives, minimally explained by the author herself, regarding her concept of natality. Finally, we seek to understand to what extent this amplified understanding may add new dimensions to the author's approach on education.
