Abstract
Through a critical review of Brazilian studies that sought to think about the links between education, youth and politics in the last decade, this article aims to analyze the importance of educational processes to the development of the ways through which young people deal with politics. Moreover, the article is interested on the tendencies shown by these studies regarding the modalities of engagement and participation among young people, as well as their motivations and meanings. Lastly, the results from a study on the involvement of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) youth are presented in order to reflect about the possibilities and limitations of the discussion on youth political engagement nowadays.
