Abstract
The aim of this article is to depict the main theoretical, methodological and empirical questions concerned in Brazilian elite studies. From a query in journals indexed in Scielo and in the Capes journals portal, it was possible to classify a set of reflections based on the elite(s) keyword. The selection criteria of articles focused on aspects that aided in the understanding of contemporary elites, from 1998 to 2017. The analysis of this survey allowed the organization of 109 documents, in six appreciative categories. The following reflection is organized in three moments. The first one summarizes the selected articles in each of the categories. Secondly, an analysis of the collected material is carried out in order to provide analytical input. Finally, some socializing strategies of these groups are presented.
