Stories are ships that cross borders

This article is a reflection on the passion for literature and childhood. It presents the concerns regarding the need to read, tell stories and listen to them, which are here mentioned as deep and essential experiences for the human beings -almost unique experiences. Among so many tasks to be accomplished by the female and male teachers with children, there is the one which is to create a happy encounter between children and books and, more generally, between the children and the world of stories; and also to be aware of the responsibility of always being, to the young children, female and male narrators and readers, being the narrative a privileged space for interaction, relationships and shared experiences between boys and girls, readers or not, and the adults who encounter with them.
