Study about the pianistic treatment by Brazilian composer and pianist Cesar Camargo Mariano in Cristal, recorded on the album Solo Brasileiro (1994). Pairing "Afro-Brazilian musical structures" (OLIVEIRA PINTO, 2001) with a textural approach of pianistic writing, we observe a synthesis and stylization in the musical formation of popular groups. The practice of the piano samba refers to the tradition of the so-called pianeiros, a tradition Cesar Camargo Mariano belongs to.
