The present article develops an analysis of the process of humanization in the scope of the Family Health Strategy (ESF). It particularly focuses on the senses attributed by users to the notion of humanization in health and their evaluation of the objective conditions (such as infrastructure and organization) and relational approaches (such as professional-user communication) in the ESF. Therefore, the analysis privileges the processes of reception and construction of attachment. To reach the objectives, a study of multiple cases (six) was conducted using a qualitative and quantitative approach, with emphasis in the qualitative methods, comprising small and large cities in the states of Bahia, Sergipe and Ceará. The recognition of the solidarity and horizontal relations of the teams can be apprehended by the speech of the users, what strengthens the valuation of the subjective dimension in the health practice, which gains space in the family health strategy and in initiatives for the humanization of care.
