Based on interviews with a group of women who have or may have faced problems in becoming pregnant, this study focuses on images such as family, children and patemity 1 maternity after the advent of the new reproduction techniques. The possibility of creating test-tube babies do still present contradictory aspects, raising obstacles for people or couples who may wish to breed as well as for those who actually make use of such practices, or who are planning to do so. Such technology is almost completely limited to the private care medicine area and this may certainly replicate the current excluding profile of Brazilian health.
