Research of descriptive nature, exploratory and with qualitative approach, which aims to know the perception about the Family Health Strategy from the team's and families' viewpoints, in an inland city of Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. Data was collected in the municipality's ten micro-areas, and two families were drawn from each, in September and October 2003. Interviews were semi-structured, and were recorded and transcribed. Results were ordered, grouped, categorized according to themes and then analyzed. The result was that both program and teams are welcome, and families agreed that health care services improved after the program started. From the team's speech to the users' echoes, there were both agreeing and some disagreeing sounds.
