The objective of this study is to investigate the way that corporeality is evoked in the novel "A via crucis do corpo" (The body via crucis), by Clarice Lispector, being argued how this concept is related to the slight knowledge of body propagated by the scientific and philosophical speech in postmodernity. From the Merleau-Ponty conception of living body, the body can be understood as an intentional entity that always heads for the world, leading to the necessity of reinvention of myths of beauty, love, happiness, body and the proper existence propagated in our culture and the media mass communication. These slight knowledge were problematized in the Clarice´s workmanship, that in certain way anticipated the effective transformations in the contemporary scene, redimensioned in the age of hiper consumption and the hiper corporeality, pointing to the center that the body occupies in the contemporary way of subjectivity.
