Notes on the treatment of persons affected by institutionalised violence

Institutionalised violence had Nazism as its great laboratory. Nazism should not be regarded as a return to barbarism, for some of its practices and mechanisms are still in use in today’s society. The analysis of the treatment of those affected by state violence starts with a reflection on Nazism, the uses of memory and the capacity of rebuilding existential territories. These reflections eventually lead to considerations about modern subjectivity.
