Contributions of systemic thinking to the work of psychologist in the hospital context

This article aims to make contributions of systemic thinking to the work of psychologist in the hospital, being perceived as an open system, dynamic, complex and unpredictable in his daily work, establishing a large generator context of meanings, which are constantly affecting the talk therapy. After brief history of redemption achievements, contradictions, advances and epistemological assumptions of psychological listening in the hospital, it presents the analysis of different contexts of our program, targeting to recover the peculiarities of the metaphors that affect decisively the psychological intervention, determining the course of actions . Metaphors, as a strong symbolic meaning, present in the hospital dynamics, are necessary elements of analysis, to organize and become a more strategic role, and better support the interdisciplinary dialogues. If the psychologist is not aware about this, he will be at risk of becoming a mere agent of the complaint and the implicit orders of routers, sustaining, in this way, fragmented actions and prejudice related to the patient, the healthcare team and the context.
