The unconscious and food repression: is there any place for desire and pleasure in the elderly's life?

Through the idea of food exogamy and its place in Edipus’ complex, the author aims at reflecting upon food repression in the elderly’s life and upon its perverse effects - such as hipochondry - as a result of that process. It deals, therefore, with a reflection on a social choice which consists of substituting for food, the desire for prohibition or repression.
