Competitive interactions of triticale (Triticum turgidosecale) and jointed charlock (Raphanus raphanistrum) in function of plant population and proportion

This work aimed to quantify the competitive interactions and competitive indexes between triticale and radish. The methodology applied consisted of a monoculture experiment that varied from 25 to 500 plants m-2 to determine the value at which the production became independent from density increase for each species and a replacement series experiment with a total density of 300 plants m-2 and seven proportions of radish: triticale (0:300, 50:250, 100:200, 150:150, 200:100, 250:50 and 300:0), in a completely randomized block design with five replications. The results were analyzed through conventional replacement series analysis, using reciprocal total yield and per plant. Replacement series indexes calculated from dry weight data indicated triticale as competitively superior to jointed charlock.
