The school librarian encouraging reading through webquest

The study aimed at verifying the use of the Webquest in order to develop the reading interest of children in the 5th grade of a Public Elementary School. The adopted methodology was the research-action, and an Webquest - which basically uses resources from the Internet - was elaborated and applied to a group of ten students. Through the analysis of the Webquest, from its elaboration and application until reaching the results, we tried to verify whether it had any kind of benefit in terms of developing the interest in reading. Through a participative observation, it could be noticed that the use of the Webquest developed by the researchers and explored by the students in reading activities was very effective.
