ABSTRACT
The study focuses on initiatives of the Brazilian Parliament in information access during the military dictatorship (1964-1985). The bills and laws about the theme were collected from de Chamber of Deputies website. For the search the following terms were used: “information”, “national security”, “freedom of expression” and “freedom of the press”. The result indicates that the Legislative power had a low participation on the discussions about the theme and the Executive power legislated to increase the restriction on information access.
