Abstract
The theme on which this article deals revolves around the notions of patrimony and social memory. In the development of this reflection we understand that it is a good moment to present some authors and perspectives of referential approaches of studies of performances in the field of Brazilian and world social sciences. In proposing this theoretical incursion, we have in mind to open a discussion about the potentiality of the notion of performance, thought as an analytical category, for the work of studies and research carried out in Information Science whose prioritized focus has to do directly, indirectly or transversally with the theme of patrimony and / or social memory. It should be emphasized that the reason for writing this article, drawing special attention to the concept of performance, is related to reading of theses, dissertations and research projects in the area of Information Science where this category is stated.
