ABSTRACT

Information flows are responsible for search, selection, treatment, storage, dissemination and use of information necessary to organizational processes that result in value-added knowledge to the needs of innovation projects. Analyzed the flow of information on innovation projects in tactical and strategic level. We used the exploratory and descriptive research of qualitative approach with technical procedures characterized by multiple case study. The locus of the research was composed of a for-profit organization, a foundation nonprofit and a research project of IHE. Data collection was performed in two stages using the following research instruments: (i) interview with the strategic level; (ii) questionnaire to the tactical level of the project. Eight research variables were used for the analysis, divided into the dimensions (i) elements: actors, channels, information and technology resources; and (ii) aspects: requirements, determining selection and use, and speed barriers. It was confirmed that the information flow is crucial process for establishing knowledge in the study designs. This process is dynamic and influenced by the peculiarities of the projects. Proper management of information flow is desirable for effective project success and maximize results of the informational point of view.
