Uses of the term “records survey” in the brazilian federal government

ABSTRACT

This article aims to approach the uses of the term "record survey" by brazilian authors and professionals working in the archives of Brazilian Federal Government. The universe of research encompasses analysis of record survey prepared by the 22 ministries that comprised the Brazilian Federal Executive Power in 2017. It is a descriptive and analytical bibliographic and documentary research, observing questions related to the terminology used, the definition attributed and the purpose for which the record survey were created. It was found that the record survey are made aiming at generic or specific objectives and that there is no standard in their conception and formulation.
