Competitive intelligence and cooperation in Belo Horizonte' software cluster

The Competitive Intelligence in clusters contributes for small businesses can generate competencies and maintain a competitive position in the global market. This study has the objective of identifying and analyzing strategic information and competitive intelligence sharing by actors of the software cluster of Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region, Brazil. The micro and macro characteristics of the environment and the sharing of strategic information were the dimensions involved in this research. It was a qualitative approach that was part of a bigger research project. We conducted a qualitative research with strategic actors in the APL. A semi-structured interview guide pertaining to research project funded by FAPEMIG. The script consists of four analysis categories, subdivided into subcategories that direct data collection. They interviewed ten actors representing the sector in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte/MG. The results suggest that the interaction between the actors does not involve actions aimed at sharing strategic information and competitive intelligence. As a result, it is proposed the implementation of governance in APL, monitoring of environments and a greater sharing of strategic information between actors among other proposals to advance the study theme.
