Abstract
Based on the critique that the political and religious leaderships of the terreiro communities have addressed to the fictional and documentary representations around the Afro-Brazilian religions, this article discusses the new modalities of figuration of the "people of santo" in the cinema, at the moment in which he assumes his self-representation.
